Once again, the city of Austin welcomed lawyers from around the country to town for the ATAA Annual Symposium. Our Director of Business Development Rob Coleman and I were at the event alongside attorneys and enjoyed learning more about their firms and unique challenges.
We also learned why ATAA is the best place to become a better truck accident lawyer.
What is ATAA?
ATAA is shorthand for the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys. It is the top resource for lawyers focused on truck accident cases.
Founded by leading truck accident attorneys Michael Leizerman and Joe Fried, and led by Executive Director Lori Tepper, ATAA gives lawyers access to the education, resources, and network of successful attorneys to help grow their businesses.
ATAA 2022 conference highlights
Like the ATAA Truck Accident Lawyers Bootcamp we attended this spring, the ATAA organization executed another great event. The education tracks were well-attended for attorneys and paralegals, and the social outings (and food!) were outstanding.
On the first night of the conference, Hennessey Digital sponsored a private dinner for the ATAA Board of Regents. Joe Fried had some wonderful things to say about us during his welcome (thanks, Joe!) as he opened up the special event for top truck accident attorneys and Symposium speakers.
On Thursday evening, we co-hosted dinner with Streamlined Record Retrieval at Lonesome Dove for a memorable experience with attorneys from Colorado to Canada. (Shout-out to Kevin Swenson, who didn’t make the group photo but stopped by earlier in the evening.)
When conference content got underway, the main area for education sessions was jam-packed throughout the event, and most speakers’ sessions were standing-room only. As always with legal industry events, we loved the “live” aspect of it that’s impossible to replicate on video calls.
In sessions, attorneys learned how to get the best settlements in truck accident cases, how to use imagery and storytelling to paint a picture for juries, establishing liability, and best practices on hiring medical experts. Attendees were abuzz with excitement and new knowledge on how to attract and leverage high-value truck accident cases for their firms.
We got to see Janelle Bailey kick off Saturday morning of the conference with a general session on trial tactics and the immediate steps to take in a truck accident case.
The ATAA is one of our favorite organizations to partner with because its members are so tight-knit and engaged. Lori and the ATAA team do a great job executing their annual symposium and we appreciate the partnership with their team.
And on a fun note, our friend Taylor Welch from EvenUp braved the mechanical bull at the Friday night social at Bull & Bowl and lived to tell the tale!
Where we’ll be next
Fall conference season is in full swing right now, and our team is making appearances at legal industry events through the end of 2022.
This week, our team is in Vegas for the fall iteration of Mass Torts Made Perfect. Soon after comes Trial Lawyers University also in Las Vegas, followed by the Crisp Game Changers Summit in Atlanta and The Business of Law in Scottsdale.
ATAA Board of Regents members: Look for Rob Coleman at the retreat coming up in December. He was bowling strikes on Friday night—did you catch anyone else on the mechanical bull? Send us the pics!
