Hennessey Digital, a leading search engine optimization (SEO) and digital marketing agency in North America, is seeking a highly organized, self-motivated Digital PR Manager to join its team.
The Digital PR Linkbuilding Manager will be a hands-on position, responsible for the design, production, and execution of the strategies in our newly formed Digital PR department. The Manager will work with current vendors and build relationships with new vendors, and project manage as needed. The Manager will create valuable and relevant content, including innovating, researching, creating, and distributing articles, blog posts, infographics, videos, and articles on behalf of our clients. The Manager will work to build high-quality backlinks from authoritative websites, and work to secure media coverage for our clients on digital platforms.
The Manager will also build a Digital Public Relations department, including establishing procedures and processes and hiring and managing team members as the company scales our Digital PR initiatives.
We are a fully remote and highly collaborative team of digital marketing thought leaders located all over the world. We provide white-glove service to our clients, and we’re looking for a thoughtful team member who can ensure that all projects are delivered on time, on budget, and on strategy. It’s important that you have a positive, entrepreneurial attitude, an embracing mindset toward change, and can manage/prioritize multiple concurrent projects.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Develop PR Backlink Campaigns andstrategies for clients, setting short- and long-term goals, and seeking industry-relevant placements.
- Analyze data to determine the effectiveness and improve efficiency of campaigns.
- Manage and build relationships with existing vendors; source new vendors as needed.
- Create valuable and relevant content, including innovating, researching, creating, and distributing articles, blog posts, infographics, videos, and articles on behalf of our clients. Data journalism is essential.
- Proactively identify media opportunities and draft recommendations and action plans around these opportunities for clients.
- Build and secure high-quality backlinks from authoritative websites that will improve search engine rankings, drive traffic, and enhance our clients’ presence and credibility.
- Secure media coverage for our clients or organizations on digital platforms, including news websites, blogs, podcasts, and social media. This involves pitching stories, press releases, and expert commentary to online journalists and bloggers.
- Secure links that will Optimize online content for search engines to improve visibility, increase website traffic, and strengthen online presence.
- Strong project management skills to ensure links are delivered timely and within the client expectations.
- Develop and maintain data and analytics to measure the impact of campaigns and strategies. Track website traffic, social media engagement, online mentions, and other key performance indicators.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with relevant mainstream and trade media, as well as identifying new outlets/media opportunities on behalf of clients.
- Being accessible and responsive to journalists, clients, internal team members, and freelance consultants.
- Maintain expert knowledge of industry trends affecting clients and communicate strategy and recommendations.
Experience/Requirements
- 3+ years experience in link building, link acquisition and outreach
- 3+ years experience in content creation, idea generation, research, crafting press releases, byline articles, media pitches, and other professional communications.
- 3+ years experience writing and editing web content and a critically sharp eye
- Experience in data journalism
- Experience with PR outreach tools such as Muck Rack, HARO, BuzzStream, Roxhill, and Pitchbox
- Leadership experience a plus
- An up-to-date understanding of Organic Search Engine Optimization, PPC, Social Media, and Content Marketing; genuine interest in best practices of these, especially as they relate to link building.
- Background in B2B Public Relations, with preferred experience in the legal sector.
- Ability to handle large volumes of projects quickly across various clients
- Strong knowledge of Google Analytics and similar analytics packages
- Working knowledge of SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, or other SEO tools
- Highly-organized, detail-oriented and positive attitude
- Must enjoy working in a team environment and must work collaboratively with others
- Expert-level attention to detail is essential
Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification
Bachelor’s degree preferred
